I started with Small Wonders, January 2018 when Quaker Daycare closed. I have been in the childcare field for 24 years, doing everything from office work to all ages of children. Currently, I am the toddler teacher. It is a joy to teach them, and watch them develop and grow. They amaze me daily with all of the things they say and do. It is a true pleasure to be with them.
I started at Small Wonders in May 2018. In both high school and college, I have been involved in various musical activities including marching band, show choir, and musicals. Additionally, I continue to pursue a degree in Early Childhood Education at Youngstown State University. Other than that, the most important things to me are my family and my church.
Hello, my name is Markayla Frenz and I am so excited to be starting my career at Small Wonders and getting to know all of you and your children. I graduated from West Branch High School in 2017 and I hope someday soon to start college to get my associates degree in Early Childhood Education. I have always had a passion for working with kids and helping them grow. I have a little sister that is 4 and she has taught me a lot that I know now. She helped me learn so much about how a child grows, learns, and acts in different situations. While in high school I was also apart of Future Teachers of America. This program let me work with kids of all ages and it was so rewarding watching them flourish into smart, incredible, young people. Outside of my passion for kids I'm also an amateur photographer and love going on walks with my fiance in the summertime. I cannot wait to get to know all your precious little ones and I hope to be a great influence on them.
Amber has been working at Small Wonders as a floater since June 2017. She is currently working towards her AAS and BS in Early Childhood Education at Kent State University-Salem and hopes to teach Kindergarten someday. She has loved getting to know your wonderful child(ren) and hopes to continue to get to know them better for many more years. Amber works with ages 0-18 at Salem First Friends Church. She loves hanging out with her boyfriend, Nick. Amber is also a musical theater/book/nature nerd if she has the free time!
My name is Kayla Beight. I graduated from Salem High School and am attending Kent State University for Early Childhood Education. I come from a big family with five younger siblings and have experience babysitting infants and toddlers. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. I am really looking forward to meeting all the families and children at Small Wonders.
I was with Quaker Community Preschool and Daycare Center for 29 years.
When Leslie and Small Wonders took over, I became the Administrator as well as the Pre-kindergarten teacher. What can I say.... I love it! I get to go to work at my job everyday and have fun. Everyday is different and the things the children come up with are just so funny. It is very rewarding to know that we are helping the children not only educationally but also by helping them feel confident with themselves. We make sure the children have fun and there is laughter everywhere.
I worked for Columbiana County Head Start and also as a para-educator for
the Salem School system before starting at Small Wonders in March 2018. I live in Leetonia and have a 3 year old grandson who also attends Small Wonders. My hobbies are riding ATV's, drag
racing, photography, and working in my flowerbeds.
My husband Dave and I were born and raised in Salem, Ohio. We have 3 boys and are blessed with 3 wonderful grandchildren. I graduated from Salem High School proud to say in 1968. When Small Wonders took over in January of 2018, I stayed on to share in a new
